Nine of Wands.

Article hero image

A lone soldier stands wielding a staff (wand) with eight others upright behind him.

The Nine of Wands is known as “Strength.” Strength here is a spiritual strength. It might better be called “Resilience.”

The soldier is alone and weary. In some decks he is wounded. However, he is determined: even if his staff shatters and fails, there are many others ready at hand. This card reminds us to believe in ourselves, our values, our dreams and continue to fight even in the face of strong resistance.
